Meant For Good – The Story of Joseph

Genesis 37:1-28 – Does God ever seem hidden to you? Do you ever have a prayer that goes unanswered? Joseph had that happen…for over 20 years. But the story of Joseph tells us that just because God seems hidden, it doesn’t mean God is absent. Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers, thrown in prison, and became second in command of the greatest nation on earth. It’s a beautiful story of God sovereignly using suffering to accomplish his good purposes. It turns out it was through Joseph’s suffering that God saved his family and moved the story of redemption forward, pointing us to an even greater Joseph. We can agree with Joseph that what was “meant for evil, God meant for good…for the saving of many lives.” (Genesis 50:20)
